Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lenora has been teaching young children for 12 years. She began working for Holly Oak Child Care Center almost six years ago. Ms. Lenora works to create interesting activities for her multi-age classroom full-time from Mondays through Fridays. Lenora opens our center at 7 a.m. each morning, ensuring that routines run smoothly.
Lenora attended college at the National School of Health and Technology. She was a dialysis technician for many years before attending school for Early Childhood and Education and Computers. Lenora has completed TECE I and II, as well as CPR, First Aid and Medication.
When Lenora is not at the Center, she spends most of her time at church, where she sings in the choir. Lenora is a member of several other organizations at the church including Women’s Ministry.
Her first name is Geraldine, but we know her as Ginni. She began working at the Center as a floater in the beginning of 2011. Ginni was born in Chester, but has lived most of her life in Delaware. She was born into a large family with four brothers and five sisters! Being around children is nothing new to Ms. Ginni. Some of her siblings live close by, while others live as far as Puerto Rico. Ms. Ginni often spends her weekends caring for her newest baby nephew.
Ms. Ginni is a Brandywine High School alumni and has completed her TECE I coursework. She plans to take TECE II in the near future. Ginni is CPR; First Aid trained and is certified to distribute medication. Prior to working at our Center, Ms. Ginni worked at a few other centers in the area. She has worked as an assistant to the teacher with children of many different age groups, from infants to school age.
Ms. Ginni often starts her day taking care of babies in our infant and toddler rooms. She ends the day working with school age children. She can be seen rocking infants, singing songs and walking outdoors with our babies.
When she is not at the center, Ginni spends time reading or at the movies. She also enjoys soccer.
